Recognizing the public's need to do something in
the aftermath of the September 11 World Trade Center attacks
Citizens for New York City has been compiling information on what
neighborhood residents volunteers have been doing
in response to the tragedy throughout the five boroughs.
With that information, the Citizens for NYC is creating a set
of guides and resource materials that will be useful
to those who want to undertake volunteer projects that
respond to the tragedy, such as local interfaith dialogues,
projects to assist victims or safety projects.

A series of Public Service Announcements to
be aired in local television stations, using
famous people and local civic leaders, would
be an ideal vehicle to call attention to many
ways New Yorkers can contribute to the city's
healing and rebuilding process.
The "what can I do?" campaign, including televised
public service announcements and other media vehicles,
will direct viewers to the Citizens for NYC for help
and information.
